Terms & Conditions for Wedding Photography Services (UK)

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between G Murray Photography (“the Photographer”) and the Client for wedding photography services. By booking, the Client agrees to these Terms & Conditions in full.


2. Booking & Payment

2.1 Booking Fee:

A non‑refundable booking fee of 30% is required to secure the wedding date. Dates are not held without payment.


2.2 Remaining Balance:

The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the wedding date. Failure to pay may result in cancellation of services.


2.3 Payment Methods:

Payment may be made by bank transfer or any other method agreed in writing.


3. Cancellation & Postponement

3.1 Client Cancellation

If the Client cancels:


More than 90 days before the wedding: booking fee retained.


90–30 days before the wedding: 50% of the total fee payable.


Less than 30 days before the wedding: full balance payable.


3.2 Postponement:

Postponements are treated as cancellations unless the Photographer is available on the new date and agrees in writing to transfer the booking.


3.3 Photographer Cancellation

In the unlikely event the Photographer must cancel, all payments received will be refunded in full. No further liability is accepted.


4. Coverage & Responsibilities

4.1 Photographer Obligations

The Photographer will:


Provide services with reasonable skill, care, and artistic judgement.


Aim to capture key moments but cannot guarantee specific images.


Work in a documentary style unless otherwise agreed.


4.2 Client Responsibilities

The Client must:


Ensure cooperation from guests and venue staff.


Arrange permissions for photography at all locations.


Inform the Photographer of any key moments, surprises, or restrictions.


4.3 House Rules & Restrictions

The Photographer is not responsible for missed shots due to:


Venue restrictions


Interference from guests


Weather conditions


Delays outside the Photographer’s control


5. Image Delivery

5.1 Delivery Times:

Final edited images will be delivered within 6–10 weeks unless otherwise stated.


5.2 Editing Style:

Images are edited in the Photographer’s signature style. Re-edits or extensive retouching may incur additional fees.


5.3 File Format:

Images are delivered as high‑resolution JPEG files. RAW files are not supplied.


5.4 Online Galleries:

Galleries remain online for 12 months unless otherwise agreed.


6. Copyright & Usage

6.1 Copyright:

All images remain the copyright of the Photographer under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.


6.2 Client Usage:

The Client receives a personal licence to print, share, and display the images for non‑commercial use.


6.3 Photographer Usage

The Photographer may use images for:


Portfolio


Website


Social media


Marketing materials

Unless the Client requests otherwise in writing before the wedding.


7. Liability & Insurance

7.1 Limitation of Liability:

The Photographer’s liability is limited to the total amount paid for the services. No responsibility is accepted for:


Loss of images due to equipment failure (with all reasonable precautions taken)


Missed moments due to circumstances beyond control


7.2 Insurance:

The Photographer holds full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.


8. Force Majeure:

The Photographer is not liable for failure to deliver services due to events beyond reasonable control, including illness, extreme weather, or travel disruption. In such cases, reasonable efforts will be made to arrange a suitable replacement photographer.


9. Meals & Breaks:

For weddings exceeding 6 hours the Photographer will take adequate breaks during the course of the coverage.


10. Complaints:

Any concerns must be raised in writing within 14 days of image delivery. The Photographer will work to resolve issues professionally and fairly.


11. Governing Law:

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland (or England & Wales, depending on your preference). Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
